Phase II

Saw the P.A. yesterday.  Confirmed that my issues are from severe sleep deprivation.  The good news is my BP is fine 120/70 and resting heart rate is at 60….although I had it down to 56/57 when I was training hard.  (Sleep deprivation can elevate those).  Running blood tests to make sure there aren’t any thyroid issues or signs of other problems…diabetes, etc.

The shakes are a combo package of hypoglycemia and too much caffiene.  I drink coffee and energy drinks like water to keep my eyes open in daylight.  No need for anti-depressants as my depression is sleep related.  Truthfully I probably wouldn’t have taken any if they were offered.  And I have to retrain my body’s sleep schedule which should take 3 weeks now that I’m off the overnight shifts.  By then I should see vast improvements in my cognitive state, physical health, and mood.  I’m supposed to try and get exposure to direct sunlight within 30 minutes of waking up.  How do you do that at 6 a.m. in Idaho??

It’s Thursday and I still feel like I’m not fully recovered from the weekend yet.  I could lay down and sleep another 4 – 5 hours.

Next week, it’s back to cardio training and an attempt to salvage something out of my problem class.

Pain is merely weakness leaving the body.

I need that on a t-shirt!

  • When you are ordering that t-shirt, can you order 2? I love it!

I found a t-shirt here in Japan years ago that said
    “Never do things by halves
I do my best work in pain and turmoil, pain and turmoil”

That shirt got me through my prelim exams! :)
