You may be noticing a theme in current and possible future posts….nothing to worry about for those of you who know me. But recent events have shed some new perspectives on a topic.

I’ve lost 2 close family members to cancer.

I watched someone I worked with for years die from cancer.

Everybody knows somebody who has been effected by this disease.

My wife follows a blog of a woman who is the final stages of the fight for her life.

It knows no boundaries.

It doesn’t care about your age, gender, economic status or race.  It doesn’t care if you’re a mother, father, son or daughter, young child, husband or wife.

Some of us have been through the scare of finding a lump that wasn’t there before or have waited to hear back on the results of a biopsy.  As often as these things turn out not be anything to worry about, there is always that “what if”.

I’m a fan his cycling career and am I’m becoming increasingly aware of how much his foundation has contributed to the fight against cancer.

I recently joined the club of people who’ve had a biopsy and will get the results sometime midweek next week.  Though I am fairly positive that it’s nothing to worry about based on similar family history….that “what if” scenario has a hit a little close to home.

Though I’m one of many who’ve shared this experience, it’s no less significant.  I’m going to set up a spare change jar and donate it to the cause periodically.

maybe it’s corny, yep the catch phrase is comin’…

“I live strong for my family”….
