It’s all about the bike

……..Or “why I ride”.
[My previous post ended up kind of lengthy so this is kind of part 2.]

I learned to ride my first bike in the late 70’s.  I still remember it.  It was bright orange with a red seat that had a tribal looking Phoenix on it.  Single speed with the brakes [...]

The hardest part…is to start…

Anyone who has taken the plunge into an exercise program knows that the hardest part is starting it.  Especially when you haven’t done it in a long time.

You find all the excuses – Not enough time, it costs too much, my back is sore, I’m too tired, I have too many other [...]

Wrapping it up

“ssssssssssssssssmack!”  What was that??    That sound… that was me bending over my knee & spanking yet another math test.  16 equations involving parabolas, circles, and their inverse functions done in 17-18 minutes flat.
Doing a little superiority dance.  If I can ace the final and do the extra credit chapter I’ll be close to finishing [...]

Only 2 more chapters to go!!
Test Thursday. Then I prep for the final that’s coming in a few weeks. Then the entrance exam for math147.
Depending on my grade outcome I may look into becoming a math tutor.
Would like [...]

A little Reflection

I registered for Spring ‘09 semester today.
I’m only taking 3 classes but they are fairly brutal.  The math class alone is 5 credit hours which means a minimum of 15 hours of study time a week.  The good news is I’m getting past the young freshmen filled 101 classes where the instructors spend a ridiculous [...]

Time for a quick glass of Egg Blog

I’ve been reading more blogs than writing this past week.  Much to blab about but limited on time.  It’s been kind of nutty in our household….to quote “Ray Barone” on parenting “It’s like living in a frat house.  Nobody sleeps, everything is broken and there is a lot of throwing up.”  Amen!
Good news is that this [...]

President Obama!!!

Sitting here with my laptop watching history in the making.   MLK is probably sporting a big old grin.  I was stunned when after a commercial NBC said “There will be young children in the white house”.  Feeling a renewed sense of pride with my country.  I was also impressed with McCain’s concession speech.  Looking forward [...]
