Local tragedy

It’s been a week of big highs & lows.  It will be a light blogging week as it seems trivial to post much after the local tragedy of the fires in S.E. Boise this week.  I did not know Dr. Ryder, but my wife the English major did and she had a big impact on [...]

Enjoy The Silence

First, my disclaimer:  I love my kids and I’m luckier than most to have the opportunity to be a stay-at-home-dad during summer break.
Next, my main point:  Anyone with the misconception that being a full time stay-at-home parent of small children, has it easier than the other parental unit who goes to work full time….needs to [...]

Obama Adds Foreign Expertise to Ticket

Great article from the NY Times on Obama’s running mate.  Interesting that he is also the lowest paid senator.

WASHINGTON — Senator Barack Obama introduced Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. as his running mate on Saturday at a boisterous rally in Springfield, Ill., a choice that strengthens the Democratic [...]

How many houses does John McCain own?

Below is a letter from Obama’s campaign manager, for anyone not on the mailing list.
“Friend –
If somebody asked you, you probably wouldn’t have to think about it.
But when a reporter asked John McCain how many houses he owns, he stumbled and said, “I think — I’ll have my staff get to you.”
If you’re like the [...]

Plug in and Hug a tree

“The ATP 8GB EarthDrive it touted to be the first earth-friendly USB flash drive in the world, but I am rather skeptical of the whole green idea – I’ll get back to my beef later after describing the ATP 8GB EarthDrive. This diminutive storage device is said to be shock-, water- and dust-proof, featuring pre-loaded [...]

Death Penalty

I’m fairly critical of the death penalty.  I have my issues with it.  But once in a while a horrible and disturbing  crime comes along….I’ve also actually spoke with this indivudal through a cell door when I worked at IDOC.  He had issues with his conditions of confinement.
In this case there is guilt is beyond [...]

new mend song up

As soon as myspace is done “processing” the new track, “the state we’re in” will be available for preview and download.  It’s a good glimpse of what’s to come in the new “album”.  It’s also a bit poppier than what we’ve done….pleasant surprise? or artistic oversight? does it really matter? can you tell that we’ve [...]

Airbags Save Lives

……kind of funny but really not.  Woman is eating while driving, chokes on food….but thankfully when she crashed the vehicle the airbag dislodged the food.
Thankfully no life threatening injuries…and having had an airbag explode in my face when I got T-boned, I send my sympathy.
