Today is the 1 year anniversary of my last day with the I.D.O.C. After almost 14 years I finally had my fill of working in the state’s prison system. People thought I was crazy to walk away from $23/hr + benefits + retirement + some perks of longevity. However, I could no longer work for people who no longer supported me or my experience and actually began creating a hostile environment for me and my staff. 1 year later, quality of life is better, I’m starting my second year at Boise State majoring in Computer Science, I’ve had some great quality time with my boys….yep…..still no regrets! Now I’m assisting someone who has retained a lawyer to fight some of the same battles I did over a year ago.
